Materials

exocad’s constantly expanding software solutions contain a leading number of supported dental materials. It is important to support the newest dental innovations right from the start. That’s why we support our partners, official resellers and dental component manufacturers to make the integration process of new and updated component systems as easy and efficient as possible.

To enable us to use  your data within our software systems, it’s required to form a License Agreement. This License Agreement also allows us to use your company name, trademarks and related imagery/parameters within our software systems for displaying and advertising.

  • Requirements

  • To integrate materials into DentalDB, you must meet the following prerequisites:
  • 1. Excel Form: Complete an Excel form listing the materials, work types, and their respective assignments. This form includes instructions on how materials are assigned and reflected in DentalDB.
  • 2. Material Details: Provide the following for each material:
    • Type of material, shades, restrictions, names, website link, and other relevant details.
    • A PNG image with a resolution of 400 × 400 pixels.
    • If applicable, a logo with the same specifications as the image.
  • Once the requirements are fulfilled, follow these steps to complete the integration:
  • 1. Initial Configuration File: One of our integration specialists will create an initial configuration file.
  • 2. Customer Adjustments: The customer adjusts the configuration file using our WorkParamsConfigToolWPF or a text editor like Notepad++. These tools allow the customer to add specific values and customize the parameters.
  • 3. Validation and Final Check: The file is validated by the customer, after which we perform a final review for errors and functionality.
  • 4. Integration and Deployment: Once approved, the file is uploaded to our dentalshare platform (if applicable) and becomes available to all exocad users.

The materials supported are defined by the manufacturing process: milling blanks, milling blocks, 3D print resins, and 3D-printed metals. One or more material types or restoration types can be selected simultaneously when defining a case in DentalDB, but it is not possible to select multiple manufacturers.

The configuration file containing these materials can also control many parameters that can be customized, allowing for a more tailored use of the materials, including restrictions and particular behavior of the DentalDB. It can also be saved locally or made available for all exocad users via dentalshare.

Always keep in mind that the materials used here are different from those used for creating 3D models or surgical guides.
