Independently trained, tested and certified

September 14,2023

Everyone wants to get the most out of their software tools. Some want to take that knowledge and share it with others. That’s where exocad’s independent certified trainers come in. These individuals dedicate significant time and financial resources to go through extensive training, testing and certification by exocad. Then they receive approval to teach educational courses on topics like ChairsideCAD, DentalCAD and exoplan. Jaime Aisa Moreno is a proud graduate of the highly selective exocad independent certified trainer program (ICTP). He tells us how the training improved his skills and the education he offers others.

Q: Tell us a little about yourself and what you do.

A: I am a dental CAD/CAM operator technician. Since 1995, I’ve worked as the head laboratory technician of the CadCamCreadent laboratory in Vilanova y la Geltrú, Spain. I’ve dedicated myself exclusively to CAD/CAM digital design and esthetic and implant prosthetics, especially in immediate loading cases. I’ve also had various responsibilities and roles in training, business development and technical advice in the field of digital dentistry.

Q: Why did you decide to pursue digital dentistry?

A: I became interested in digital dentistry because of my passion for design and technology. The opportunity to combine my technical skills with creating dentures and improving people's quality of life was very appealing to me. Since then, I have specialized in CAD/CAM digital design and implant prosthetics.

Q: How did you first hear about the exocad Independent Certified Training Program?

A: My participation in dental conferences and events gave me insight into exocad's training opportunities and its reputation in the market. After I sent an inquiry about becoming an independent certified trainer, I learned that the process takes a significant investment in time and money and is really only for those who have the infrastructure to provide substantial educational course offerings. Luckily for me, the criteria fit, and I was approved to start the process.

Q: As you mentioned, becoming an independent certified trainer requires an investment significant in time and resources. What motivated you to apply?

A: I decided to become an exocad independent certified trainer because of my passion for sharing knowledge and helping other professionals in their development. I also recognized the importance of being up to date on the latest digital design technologies and trends in dentistry. I saw the investment in time and resources as a valuable investment in my professional growth and also a way to share what I’d learned with other colleagues.

“The exocad independent certified training program was an enriching experience. I gained a deep understanding of exocad software and its application in different clinical cases.”

Q: What was it like going through the program?

A: The exocad certified training program was an enriching experience. Through theoretical and practical sessions and evaluations, I was able to develop advanced skills in the digital design of dental prosthetics and broaden my expertise in the field. I gained a deep understanding of exocad software and its application in different clinical cases.

Q: How has becoming an independent certified trainer with exocad impacted your business?

A: Becoming a trainer has allowed me to provide specialized and certified support to other professionals in the dental field. This has had a positive impact on my business as I have been able to offer training and consulting services that add value to clients. Being a certified trainer has also increased my credibility and visibility in the industry, leading to opportunities for collaboration and growth.

“I believe that exocad users have great potential to get the most out of software applications. However, as in any complex tool, there is always room to improve and deepen knowledge.”

Q: Do you think exocad users get the most out of exocad applications?

A: In general, I believe that exocad users have great potential to get the most out of software applications. However, as in any complex tool, there is always room to improve and deepen knowledge. Continuous training and updating of skills are essential to maximize the potential of exocad software and to use all its capabilities in the design of dental prosthetics.

Q: Do you see this program improving exocad user education? Have you already noticed an improvement in your region?

A: Definitely, this program can improve exocad user education. Certified training provided by exocad and its independent trainers ensures quality training and consistent standards in the use of the software. This results in improved user understanding and skills, which in turn translates into higher-quality clinical outcomes. In my region, I have seen an increase in the adoption and level of proficiency of exocad users thanks to programs like this.

Q: What kind of training do you now offer as an ICTP trainer? What are your educational facilities like?

A: As an ICTP trainer, I offer specialized and certified training in the use of exocad software for the digital design of dental prostheses implemented with Wacom interactive monitors and changing the use of the mouse to that of a 3D pen or digital spatula. I teach theoretical and practical courses that cover various aspects, from basic concepts to advanced design techniques. My educational facilities are equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to provide a complete and hands-on learning experience. In addition to offering face-to-face training, I also provide high-level online training. In these courses, participants have the opportunity to see in real-time what I am doing on my screen and practice the exercises together with me. This modality allows direct interaction and facilitates practical learning, despite the geographical distance.

I think everyone could benefit from attending a course by an independently certified trainer because we’ve received the most cutting-edge education from the experts at exocad, and we know how to share those tips, tricks and tools with others.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: My plans for the future include continuing to be involved in digital dentistry, both in CAD/CAM design and in training and consulting. I would like to continue sharing my knowledge and experiences with other professionals, as well as explore opportunities for collaboration in research and development of new technologies in the dental field.

Q: Okay, time for some questions to get to know you. What is your favorite song at the moment?

A: "Creep" by Radiohead.

Q: What is your favorite tooth and why?

A: My favorite tooth is the upper central incisor. It is a prominent and visible tooth in the smile, and its shape and proportions are esthetically pleasing. Also, the design and restoration of this tooth can make a big difference in a person's overall appearance.

Q: If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

A: The advice I would give to the younger self would be to not be afraid to take risks and follow passions. Growth and success come when you step out of your comfort zone.

Q: If exocad was an animal, what would it be?

A: It would be a cat because cats are known for their agility, dexterity and curiosity—characteristics that reflect exocad's innovation and versatility in the field of digital dentistry.

Q: One word for exocad?

A: Innovation.
