exocad Settles Software Piracy and DMCA Infringement Lawsuit

Salt Lake City, USA, December 17, 2018  

exocad today announced that it has settled a software piracy and Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) infringement lawsuit with one of its former customers, a USA-based dental lab.

The USA-based customer had purchased a 'cracked' version of exocad DentalCAD software from a website offering counterfeit exocad software, which came to the attention of exocad's License Compliance team. As part of the settlement, the former customer will pay exocad the sum of US $220,000.00 in damages.

exocad´s open implant planning software now enables the in-house production of surgical guides

Darmstadt, Germany, November 19, 2018

Today, exocad announced the introduction of its new exoplan Guide Creator module – a software solution for surgical guide design. It provides dental practices and laboratories with a digital workflow offering maximum flexibility. This new feature is available in selected geographies as an add-on module for exoplan, a powerful, open and efficient software package for virtual implant planning. Customized surgical guides can be designed using the new Guide Creator software module, after which they can be produced on-site in a laboratory, dental practice or external production center. This increases the production value of existing equipment, with 3D printers in particular providing more profitability when producing surgical guides.

exocad has been ISO 13485 certified for more than 5 years

Our quality management has been certified for more than 5 years according to ISO 13485 for the areas  "Development, manufacture and distribution of software programs for medical applications". This year the adjustment to the new standard ISO 13485: 2016 took place.
