To advance our cloud strategy in Darmstadt we are looking for you as

Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer for AWS (m/f/d)*

Locations: Darmstadt in Germany

You will support R&D on design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-native software solutions and their associated environments. Your role entails consulting on AWS technologies and collaboratively selecting the most suitable options with the development and product management teams. This includes considering factors such as reliability, cost monitoring, scalability, and security.

The main tasks may include

  • Build, deploy and ship infrastructure for cloud-native software solutions together with our R&D-Teams
  • Improve existing cloud products for better scalability, faster shipping, and enhanced cost efficiency
  • Design robust and secure cloud storage systems for sensitive persistent data, including user data, patient data, and 3D-Data
  • Partner with our Information Security and Data Privacy experts for HIPAA and GDPR compliant systems
  • Cost estimation, cost simulation and cost analysis
  • Design for high security, reliability and availability including logging and monitoring of the environments for thousands of sessions in parallel
  • Design and implement strategies for automatic testing (robustness and load-tests) together with the R&D/SQA-Teams
  • Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and CI/CD with Groovy, Python, Bash
  • Mentor and provide guidance to others, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

Your requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in designing, building and maintaining cloud-based software systems in AWS
  • In-depth knowledge in infrastructure-as-code and expertise with Terraform/Terraspace
  • Strong commitment to CI/CD principles and practices
  • Practical expertise with Git, Jenkins, JIRA and Confluence
  • Hands-on experience and expertise with Docker, Kubernetes and/or ECS/EKS
  • Information Systems, Computer Science, or other technical degree, or equivalent
  • English (C1) language skills in word and writing and (not mandatory) German (B1 or better)
  • Bonus: Experience with multi-regional environments (global deployment) in AWS and Content Delivery Networks and Large Databases (VLDB). Experience with Open Telemetry Collector and Splunk/SignalFX
