Manager SQA (m/f/d)

As SQA Manager, part of the Advanced Technology Development (ATD) team, you will be responsible for organizing the testing & validation of medical software, including leading the processes and people doing software testing & validation, organizing the SQA practice in the ATD group, coaching engineers on best practices for testing modules, components, systems, and collaborating and engaging with other teams in the company to integrate into their SQA practices. The manager will also have to interface on a regular basis with regulatory and the PMO organization. In our matrix organization, the SQA Manager works closely with R&D clinicians, engineers, scientists, product marketers, the PMO office, the Regulatory office and the Marketing teams and the engineers. This role is involved in the product life cycle from planning and concept to product and feature requirements to the transition of projects to full development teams.

In this role, you will…

  • Act as an expert of continuous improvement & change, with the best SQA software practices, supported by our Global SQA practice, including: advanced unit, component, and systems test automation; contract & regression testing
  • Manage the entire ATD SQA practice, leveraging existing engineers and hiring new ones if needed
  • Use of automated documentation tools
  • Enforcement of development processes and coding conventions
  • Focus toward quality analysis instead of fault detection
  • Communicate process changes
  • The position requires very close interaction with team members at every level (above and below your own position) and at multiple sites around the world so travel will be required

In this role, you’ll need…

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 6+ years of SQA experience
  • 3+ years management experience
  • Programming experience as software engineer
  • Demonstrated success leading quality over integrated and complex product portfolios
  • Experience and success in leading, mentoring, growing, & scaling global quality engineering teams
  • Proven technical leadership with experience building, growing, & scaling strong Test Automation (SDET) organizations
  • Deep Understanding & experience utilizing agile development and quality engineering methodologies (Scrum, CI, CD, etc.)
  • A servant leadership approach to inspiring a high performing & innovative culture
  • Experience with regulated environments, medical devices, and 3D technology preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, min C1
